Metal prices climbed lifting metal related stocks higher with Newmont Mining Corp. (NEM) soaring $3.20 to close at $56.07. Freeport McMoran Copper & Gold Inc. (FCX) rose $1.64 to close at $65.19 while Phelps Dodge Corp. (PD) climbed $2.07 to close at $87.48.
