Transocean Inc. (RIG) will merge with GlobalSantaFe Corp. (GSF) to create a new offshore oil drilling company. Shares of Transocean jumped $5.99 to close at $115.96 while GlobalSantaFe stock leaped $3.59 to close at $78.33 .
