Alcoa Makes Bid For Alcan

Canadian aluminum company Alcan Inc. (AL) was the target of a $26.9 billion stock and cash bid from Alcoa Inc. (AA). Shares of Alcan leaped $21.08 to close at $82.11 while Alcoa stock surged $2.97 to close at $38.63.
