American Home Mortgage To Suspend Operations

Shares of American Home Mortgage Investment Corp. (AHM) lost most of its value as the lender confirmed plans to suspend operations and to lay off most of its staff of 7,000. The stock price plunged 76 cents to close at 69 cents.
