IHOP To Buy Applebee's

IHOP Inc. (IHP) offered $1.9 billion in cash to buy Applebee's International Inc. (APPB)restaurant chain. Shares of IHOP surged $4.99 to close at $61.24 while the stock of Applebee's edged up 53 cents to close at $24.91.
