Apple's Earnings Nearly Double

Third quarter earnings for Apple Inc. (AAPL) surged to 92 cents per share from 54 cents per share in the year ago period to beat expectations due to strong sales of Mac computers and iPod media players. The stock price leaped $8.74 to close at $146.00.
