Hologic To Acquire Cytyc

Hologic Inc. (HOLX) and Cytyc Corp. (CYTC) announced a definitive agreement to combine the two companies in a $6.2 billion cash and stock transaction. Shares of Hologix tumbled $3.61 to close at $54.00 while Cytyc stock leaped $7.95 to close at $43.00.
