Alcan Rejects Alcoa's Offer

Alcan Inc. (AL) rejected Alcoa Inc.'s (AA) $28 billion hostile takeover bid and engaged in discussions with BHP Billiton. Shares of Alcan leaped $4.86 to $85.89 while Alcoa stock gained $1.42 to close at $40.37.
