Witness To Be Acquired By Verint

Witness Systems Inc. (WITS) will be acquired by Comverse Technology Inc.'s (CMVT) subsidiary Verint Systems Inc. (VRNT) for approximately $950 million. Shares of Witness surged $4.52 to close at $26.79 while Comverse stock eased 18 cents to close at $20.27. Verint stock edged up 22 cents to close at $32.28.
