Emerson's Earnings Rise

Emerson Electric Co. (EMR) reported higher earnings of $1.29 per share compared with $1.01 per share last year beating expectations by 4 cents and announced a 2-for-1 stock split. The stock price jumped $4.87 to close at $87.43.
