A. O. Smith Warns Of Soft Sales

Strong sales lifted third quarter earnings for A. O. Smith Corp. (AOS) to 55 cents per share from 32 cents per share in the year ago period but the company warned of soft sales for the fourth quarter sending the stock price plunging $4.97 to close at $38.91.
