Merck To Buy Sirna

Merck & Co. Inc.(MRK) agreed to buy the biotech firm Sirna Therapeutics Inc. (RNAI) for $1.1 billion or $13 a share. Sirna stock nearly doubled by jumping $6.18 to close at $12.63 while Merck stock eased 22 cents to close at $45.42.
