Genzyme Earnings Rise

Higher sales lifted second quarter earnings for Genzyme Corp. (GENZ) to 49 cents per share from 46 cents per share in the year ago period, beating expectations by 2 cents. The stock price jumped $4.76 to close at $62.74.
