Alternative Fuel Stocks Rise

Shares of alternative fuel companies rose as crude oil flirted with the $72 a barrel mark before settling at $71.76. The stock price of Pacific Ethanol Inc. (PEIX) surged $4.32 to close at $29.89 while shares of MGP Ingredients Inc. (MGPI) jumped $3.23 to close at $29.10. The Andersons Inc. (ANDE) stock leaped $8.60 to close at $97.85.
