Novell's Sales Drop

Declining sales sent first quarter earnings for Novell Inc. (NOVL) down to less than a penny per share from 90 cents per share in the year ago period. The dismal results prompted analysts to downgrade the stock. Shares of the networking software maker plunged $1.63 to close at $7.90.
