Chico's Sales Below Expectations

Although Chico's Fas Inc. (CHS) reported fourth quarter earnings that grew to 24 cents per share from 18 cents per share in the year ago period, the stock price plummeted $6.41 to close at $41.35 over disappointing same-store sales growth. Sales at stores open at least one year rose a mere 5.7%, far short of the 8.7% that analysts were expecting.
