Ciena Misses

Although communications networking equipment maker Ciena Corp. (CIEN) swung to a first quarter profit of 12 cents per share compared with a loss of 8 cents per share in the year ago period, the results fell shy of Wall Street expectations sending the stock price plunging $3.19 to close at $28.28.
