Goodyear Freezes Pension Plan

As part of Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co.'s (GT) plans to slash costs by $1 billion, the company will freeze its traditional pension plan for salaried workers and require these workers to pay more for retiree medical benefits. The stock price rose $1.53 to close at $26.15.
