Star Scientific Awaits Judge's Decision

A judge will rule Friday on three motions in Star Scientific Inc.'s (STSI) patent infringement lawsuit against RJ Reynolds, a unit of Reynolds American (RAI). Shares of Star Scientific leaped $1.01 to close at $4.40 while Reynolds stock eased 88 cents to close at $63.60.
