Mirant Withdraws Bid For NRG

Mirant Corp. (MIR) withdrew its $8 billion offer to purchase NRG Energy Inc. (NRG) sending shares of NRG tumbling $3.93 to close at $46.92. Mirant stock eased 7 cents to close at $24.38.
