ViroPharma's Earnings Fall Short

ViroPharma Inc. (VPHM) fell 9 cents short of expectations with first quarter earnings of 12 cents per share compared with 36 cents per share in the year ago period. Shares of the drug maker tumbled $1.05 to close at $9.92.
