Privately held Select Personnel Services will acquire RemedyTemp Inc. (REMX) for $169 million in cash. RemedyTemp also announced second quarter earnings of 6 cents per share compared with a loss of 15 cents per share in the year ago period. Shares of the temporary staffing services firm leaped $4.33 to close at $16.53.
