Possible Layoffs Spark Walkout At GM Plant

Comments of a possible layoff of nearly 1,000 workers at General Motors Corp.'s (GM) Ellesmere Port plant in England sparked an impromtu walkout of all employees on the morning shift which successfully shut down operations at the site. Shares of GM lost 78 cents to close at $25.81.
