Merck Corrects Statistical Analysis Method

Merck & Co. (MRK) corrected a statistical analysis method that was used in a study which led the pharmaceutical to withdraw its painkiller Vioxx from the worldwide market. The correction, however, did not alter the outcome of the study. The stock price dropped $1.42 to close at $33.14.
