Swift Transportation Nearly Doubles Earnings

Swift Transportation Co. (SWFT) cited lower expenses for first quarter earnings that nearly doubled to 50 cents per share from 26 cents per share in the year ago period. Analysts upgraded the transportation company sending the stock price soaring $6.76 to close at $32.01.
