Shares of PortalPlayer Inc. (PLAY) plummeted $9.46 to close at $13.13 after acknowledging that Apple Computer Inc. (AAPL) did not choose its latest PP5021 chip for flash-based iPods. Apple stock climbed $1.98 to close at $67.63.
