Capital One Buys North Fork

Capital One Financial (COF) announced a $14.6 billion stock and cash deal to buy North Fork Bancorp (NFB) whose shares jumped $3.80 to close at $29.20. Capital One Financial shares tumbled $6.82 to close at $83.10.
