Watson Buys Andrx For $1.9 Billion

Watson Pharmaceuticals Inc. (WPI) entered a $1.9 billion deal to purchase Andrx Corp. (ADRX) becoming the nation's third largest generic drug company. Shares of Andrx surged $2.14 to close at $23.73 while Watson stock lost 55 cents to close at $29.00.
