Bristol-Myers Settles Patent Suit

Bristol-Myers Squibb Co. (BMY) and Sanofi-Aventis SA (SNY) settled a patent challenge to their blood thinning agent Plavix with generic drug maker Apotex Inc. Shares of Bristol-Myers surged $2.41 to close at $25.24 while Sanofi-Aventis stock jumped $4.20 to close at $47.88.
