Syntax-Brillian Misses

Although Syntax-Brillian Corp. (BRLC) swung to a third quarter profit of 9 cents per share compared with losses of 26 cents per share in the year ago period, the results fell short of expectations prompting a downgrade. Shares of the high definition television maker plunged $1.41 to close at $7.00.
