FDA Warns Unapproved Extended Release Drug Makers

The Food and Drug Administration gave makers of unapproved extended release cough and cold medications until November 25 to halt shipments of their products. Adams Respiratory Therapeutics Inc. (ARXT) is the only FDA approved company to sell the extended release drugs. Shares of the specialty pharmaceutical leaped $3.89 to close at $43.94.
