Morgan Stanley's Earnings Beat Expectations

First quarter earnings for Morgan Stanley Inc. (MS) surged to $2.51 per share from $1.48 per share in the year ago period, beating expectations by a wide margin. Separately, an appeals court reversed a $1.58 billion verdict against Morgan Stanley. Shares of the financial services firm jumped $5.22 to close at $81.33.
