Strong Sales Lift Mattel's Earnings

Strong sales of Elmo lifted third quarter earnings for Mattel Inc. (MAT) to 62 cents per share from 55 cents per share in the year ago period. Shares of the world's largest toy maker rose 60 cents to close at $21.30.
