Woodside Makes Offer For Energy Partners

Energy Partners Ltd. (EPL) is reviewing an unsolicited acquisition offer from Woodside Petroleum Ltd. Woodside's offer is valid only if Energy Partners shareholders vote against its acquisition of Stone Energy Corp. (SGY). Shares of Energy Partners soared $5.74 to close at $24.14 while Stone Energy stock plunged $3.24 to close at $44.35.
