SanDisk Added To S&P 500

Standard & Poor's announced that SanDisk Corp. (SNDK) will replace Chiron Corp. (CHIR), which is being acquired by Novartis AG (NVS), on the S&P 500 Index. Shares of SanDisk climbed $2.43 to close at $61.90 while Chiron stock edged up 2 cents to close at $47.94. Novartis stock eased 5 cents to $55.81.
